Aus Kompatibilitätsgründen 64 Bit System

Hey, ich wollte mir umbedingt das neue Adobe After Effects und ggf. auch andere Produkte der Reiher anschauen, musste dann aber relativ schnell feststellen, dass diese nur noch für 64Bit Systeme entwickelt werden.

Find ich schon krass, aber wie ich gelesen habe, soll sich das auch nicht in nächster Zeit ändern..

Ich hab 2GB RAM und einen AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core mit jeweils 2,4 GHz

Frage nun:
a) ist es mit meinem System überhaupt möglich, bzw. lohnt sich das für mich?
b) wie sollte ich das am sinnvollsten machen? Welches OS sollte ich dann verwenden, und ist es sinnvoll dieses Betriebssystem parallel zu verwenden (also auf einer eigenen Partition). Hab mich noch nie in die Richtung beschäftigt und fürchte bloß, dass ich evntl. meine alten Programme nicht mehr verwenden kann..

Wäre um hilfreiche Antworten dankbar!
