Rapidshare: Einstellung von RapidPoints und RapidDonations

Beachten Sie hierzu bitte auch, dass wir Ihnen in den nächsten Tagen eine Möglichkeit anbieten werden, einen Collector's Account in einen kostenlosen Premium-Account umzuwandeln und die Punkte in diesen zu übernehmen.
Leider mussten wir auch die RapidDonations aufgeben. Für alle vorgestellten Organisationen und Projekte sind jeweils 10.000 Euro zusammengekommen. Dafür an dieser Stelle allen Spendern ein herzliches Dankeschön! Derzeit überlegen wir, wie wir das Spendenprogramm in Zukunft fortführen können.
Klar ist für uns auch, dass wir weiterhin Kunden belohnen möchten, die Neukunden anwerben. Sobald wir ein neues System dafür entwickelt haben, werden wir Sie darüber sofort informieren.

Damit ist in Kürze Schluss, ab dem 1. www.twitter.com/20min_digital Das ist erstaunlich, denn erst im Mai hatte das Oberlandesgericht Düsseldorf entschieden, dass Rapidshare nicht für die Uploads der User haftbar gemacht werden kann. Der Vorwurf, dass der One-Click-Hoster Urheberrechtsverletzungen fördert, hat sich als haltlos erwiesen. 20 Minuten Online wollte von Rapidshare wissen, wieso man sich ausgerechnet jetzt zu diesem Schritt entschlossen hat. Eine Antwort ist noch ausstehend.
Zeitgleich wurde auch das Aus des im März gestarteten Projekts RapidDonations verkündet. Die User konnten damit die gesammelten RapidPoints für gemeinnützige Organisation einsetzen. Für die SOS Kinderdörfer, Amnesty International und die Caritas sind jeweils 10'000 Euro zusammengekommen. Das Spendenprogramm soll auch künftig fortgeführt werden, in welcher Form ist allerdings noch nicht klar.
Update 23.6.2010, 10:30 Uhr: Rapidshare hat inzwischen reagiert und schreibt in einer E-Mail an 20 Minuten Online: «Die Begründung ist überhaupt nicht fadenscheinig und hat auch nichts mit den Kosten des Programms zu tun, sondern mit einem laufenden Verfahren in den USA, das gegen uns geführt wird. Auch hier wurde wie schon vom OLG Düsseldorf eine einstweilige Verfügung gegen uns abgewiesen, aber unser Prämienprogramm wurde von Seiten des Gerichts kritisiert. Darauf haben wir reagiert, obwohl wir die Meinung des US-Gerichtes nicht teilen. Wir denken zurzeit über neue Prämienmodelle nach, die unsere User nicht unter ungerechtfertigten Generalverdacht stellen. Auch an neuen Spendenmodellen arbeiten wir, mehr dazu werden wir in Kürze bekanntgeben.»
